Meet Kadi!
Kadi is thirty-two years old and lives in a Gerehun refugee village in Eastern Sierra Leone with her supportive husband and family. Although she has had five pregnancies, she has no surviving children. Her children have died at ages one, three, four and five, and during her fifth pregnancy, she spent three days in obstructed labor. After her painful labor process, she finally gave birth to her stillborn child. Because of the obstructed labor, she developed obstetric fistula.
